As they say, 'time flies when you're having fun'. Can't say I'm having a jolly blissful time here in Sibu, but eh, it's not so bad either. I mean, Labuan was worse with the fact that I had no car there, there was only one mall, and the schedule is tighter than it is in uni - but even so, humans are self-adapting, and therefore if you are optimistic you can find fun in the not-so-fun kinda places.
This is basically a rant post, so you can ignore this if you want to.
Well, let's begin with some of the things I liked throughout my stay in Sibu. One would be the fact that I have the freedom to go where ever I want, whenever I want (there's no curfew here, haha). Too bad most of the facilities (ie shopping malls, cinemas, bowling centres) cannot compare to those in Kuching. Still, I'm glad they have a McDonalds here. At least I have a place to turn to for sheer happiness.
The hospital experience is not too bad - the patients are mostly cooperative, the nurses are nice, and the doctors are willing to teach. We get a lot of hands on with some of the simple daily procedures, and even assist in delivering babies (which was unnerving but exciting). I don't reckon we'd get that kind of experience if we were say, in a hospital where they're more strict on who gets to do what.
But all in all, life in Sibu is not so bad (except for some of my friends who are fun-junkies; they depend heavily on fun centres like malls, bowling centres, karaoke spots, etc). The only one thing that would prevent me from ever...ever coming back here is the really annoying, really noisy CICADA. They have their peak season (which was the time I arrived, and about now). Those buggers really love lights and I get so annoyed by them as they buzz around. And they're really big. I hate big bugs, ugh. >_<
So enough about cicadas (*shudder*). Regarding my current posting, which is Paediatrics...the fun part is getting to see babies and little kids. They are all so adorable. The not-so-fun part is that I have to bring out my inner kid in order to examine them. Not easy when my cousins are all grown up, and so are my sisters. I kinda forgot how to play with kids after growing up. This is my biggest problem with the posting so far. *sigh*
Throughout my attachment in Sibu Hospital, I've met plenty of specialists. I'd rather not mention names because that would be free advertising (lol), but there is this Paediatrician (at least I'll mention the department, lol) who really earned my respect. Sure, he scares the hell outta me with his stern face and questions that I may know the answer to but I'm too scared to answer; but the way he asks the patients and their parents shows his concern over them. He would even arrange to meet the patients at their hometown district hospital at their convenience, because most of the patients that come to Sibu Hospital are from the more rural areas like Kapit, Dalat, etc, and it takes them hours by road or boat to get to Sibu. He's a very busy man - and I respect him for putting so much effort and time to see these children, when he'd obviously make more money in the private sector. Like I said before in my facebook, he deserved every award he's gotten.
(end of life's rantings)
As the end of Year 3 approaches (it ends officially on March 16th for me), I am more distracted by homesickness than ever. I'm also distracted by the many things to watch these days; such as the new K-drama starring TVXQ's Changmin/Max 'Paradise Ranch' alongside the pretty Lee Yeon Hee; and also Merlin the TV Show. I blame Guinevere for getting me into the show - I mean I have the show but I never got around to actually watching it - and all because of Bradley James. *grins* I should probably have a go at watching Dr. Who too, since that's like UK's #1 show. Oh, and Vampire Diaries.
I cannot wait to get back home and feel the XBOX 360 controller again. Hopefully the long-anticipated Dynasty Warriors 7 would be out by then. Then it's time for some co-op play with my sisters! Also, I've been meaning to watch (yes, I watch my sister play) Final Fantasy XIII too. It just looks so pretty *_*

| FF13: Like I said, do you see how beautiful this game is? *foam* Fang is like the coolest girl ever. She's sexy, confident, gorgeous and speaks with an Australian accent. |
 |
| DW7: My favourite character in the DW series - Zhao Yun. What have they done to his hair?! *sob* |
 |
| DW7: Ma Dai, a new character. He's a relative of Ma Chao, and he uses a frickin' paintbrush to fight. WTF seriously. I cannot wait to have a go at playing his story mode. |
 |
| DW7: Jiang Wei is back! Out of all the characters who returned, his comeback made me the happiest. XD Strategists FTW! (Yeah I guess you'd notice that I am very Shu-biased) |
 |
| DW7: Although most of the characters retained their weapons from DW5 and before since everyone agreed that DW6 sucks thanks to the many copycat movesets between characters, the one character who does retain his DW6 weapon is Zhou Yu! And boy am I glad he gets to keep that awesome bo staff of his. He was my first maxed out character in DW6 because I liked playing as him so much. |
 |
| DW7: My favourite screenshot so far. LU BU + PANDA = FORMIDABLE DUO. They will overpower their enemies with utter cuteness! |

| Bradley James~~~ <3 |
Reviews...I probably will review Paradise Ranch when I have the time later. Hehe. Until next time.
